Tomorrow is the opening of the 100 Show at W+K, a global showcase of art and illustration from artists around the globe.
The pieces have been hung and I am still a bit uncomfortable with my submission. It is not bold, complex or daring. It’s quite the opposite. It is soft, whimsical, and cozy. Three words I wouldn’t generally use to describe my photographic style. And for that, I am uncomfortable.
It is so easy to fall into a trap of comfort, the expected, the known. That when the unknown comes creeping by, I usually scurry away finding security in the shadow of the familiar.
I’ve spent my life bouncing from one shadow to another and just these past few years, found that the shadows only impede my journey. So here I am, exposed to the elements, to the changes, to the reality that being uncomfortable will only help me arrive to where I want to be.

Capturing for posterity.
Now that’s a view worth hiking for.
